well, what a day!!!

huge thankyou to everyone who made it up to treat Mike to a day in the peaks. Petes route was awesome, the bikes, climbs, downs, banter and chat was as good as it always is and the weather was ace!!!

And cheers Stu :D

13 started the ride and split into two groups, one group doing the sensible thing and doing less miles and less climbing.........9 of us didnt, we had a right blast but i am admitting now that rigid, cantis and old tryes really are cool but not as good as my modern bike haha. Back, thumbs and wrists are dead!!!!

few mechanicals, punctures, seatposts, shifter mounts, shoes and shut cafes never deflated the spirits and we all had arite giggle. Would have loved to go around ladybower and down from the top of moor but that would have made it 40+ miles and i couldnt have managed it, well my front tyre definetly couldnt have....

Cheers
Chris

Re:

Loving those blue skies!

Brilliant bunch of people as always, had a really great day - grinning like an idiot for most of it I imagine

Definitely it was the tyres & escaping BB that stopped us doing the gratuitous extension, absolutely...

If anyone with photos would drop them in here please then we should all be able to view them in one place:

Right, love to say more but I have to get up for work pretty soon

Re:

That was a beast of a ride, well worth the effort.

I must admit I was struggling a bit, not the best idea to do a 100 miles during the week then attempt this

Pete, I have added my pictures to the google shared folder, great idea.

Well I cant blame the bike but I am going to, bloody heavy modern thing, time to build something light with 26 inch wheels

Great to see everyone, how do I always end up coming home with more bike bits than I left with

Here are a few pics from me

Re:

Thank you so much for putting this ride up Chris, and Peter for sorting out the route. Great to see so many people out, especially given the short notice.
I had a fantastic day's riding, catching up with retro mates and making new ones. Great route, brilliant weather and fantastic scenery.
I couldn't put photos on the link, so I'll have to put them here, Peter.

Great pics Mike

Looks like you all had a good day out

Has to be one of the best days I've had on a bike KK!

Hard trails, certainly get more of a battering than the Cotswolds or south downs. Stunning scenery too, wherever you looked. Pete worked out a fantastic route!
