Re:
So the weather was touch and go, Chris had a big Friday night, Claire and I turned up at (am is to one gazebo and not much sign of Retrobike.
Sign-in would be later....but have a cup of tea and just camp where ever you like.
Chris soon arrived and the set up begin.
When the sun came out it was warm and things looked on the up as the ground begain to dry a little.
Racers briefing with thanks to Chris for all his hard work, explanation of the "beer lane"...yes there was one.
Start and they're off! Chris in 4th.
Steve Day Single Speed WC with Chris right behind him (until Steve spilled and Chris gave up his place to check he was okay).
Dan-the man, and team mate (many thanks Dan, an absolute pleasure (no way I could do 6 hours solo either)!
Ted on the move.
Me.
The collection grew...some rare machines.
Emergency pit stop (not for beer) but nipple tape
About 2/3rds into the race the heavens opened. The result a track which was drying out nicely and becoming faster suddenly became very slippy, particularly on the off camber grass. I took a nose dive as did a few others judging by the state of their kit.
Pete (elPedro666) makes it across the line with 5 seconds to spare....and hasn't been on a bike for a while -well done!
Aidan, Gary's 15 year son gets a special mention and price...if he hadn't taken his dad vintage Canondale out he would have come 5th overall  ....brilliant job!
Let the beer and ogling begin.
Great day and many thanks to all.
