Well, the wonder of the internet! Hodders combe is less than 10miles as the crow flies and someone from almost Surrey tells me where it is!

That's the one I knew of but never stopped there so didn't know it's name.

Fat will be in bits by January! I shall see if the Jailor lets me out, and depends on whether I've gotten off my ar5e, sold the car, bought a 4x4 and rebuilt the AA... ;)

only just seen this! "Outrageous Welsh altitude Snobbery"... nar, just an accurate description of the quantocks. ridden there many times. its okay, I prefer exmoor slightly further up the coast. but yeh as mentioned, if its on your doorstep its better than a lot of other places ;)
