Cannock Fools Gold Ride - 1st April 2017

Out of the discussions on the 2016 Cannock Turkey Twizzler, a follow-up event.

The first:

Cannock Fools Gold Ride

Spirit and ride in line with the Turkey Twizzler, but at the start of April, an ideal final training ride prior to tapering for HONC 2017 (on the 9th April).

:: Date: Saturday 1st April 2017
:: Distance/time: 18 miles or so spread out over a day's riding with plenty of stops, moaning and banter. Several short cut options available too.
:: Meeting at: Birches Valley Car Park (£4 for the day) Cannock Chase. Please arrive by 10 a.m. for a 10.30 a.m. start.
:: Directions: Postcode: WS15 2UQ
:: Terrain: Forest trails, mainly man made. Snow, ice and pools of stinking mud with occasional outbreaks of sunshine.
:: Route: The main ride will be the 'Monkey Trail' which we should complete by mid afternoon.

Food and drinks once back at the carpark.

After a stop for food we always say we we'll head off for some more riding and perhaps a bit of off piste stuff. We probably won't though depending on the quality of the old bicycle tat (quality Retrobike parts) on display.

Thanks for organising this one Ted, I'm also not able to get to the Twizzler these days so this a perfect solution for me.

oh i will make a weekend of this. i will get the intruder into camp on the friday eat and relax do the ride saturday then party in cannock saturday night then ride the blue trail sunday then home monday morning. yeh this is perfect im in, in fact i might even bring the wife and kids so they can chill for the weekend doing what wives and children do. **** it i will bring the dogs as well lol. PRE WARM UP TO MAYHEM

Well if you're going to be like that I might have to throw the little tent and a bottle of whiskey in the car, then see if I can instigate a rice cook-off Saturday evening...
