Sorry Blatant plug, but next week is the Bucks Off Road Sportive, As course setter, I can tell you that every km has been ridden my yours truly on my trusty Orange Clockwork, so it's retro friendly.
Its a friendly event run by a local Cycling club, and starts inside the M25 (near Rickmansworth) and rides some of the best Chiltern trails all the way out to Princes Risborough (125km routes). Price includes GPX routes fully marked course feed stations (1 on 75km, 2 on 100/125km), momento, and a celebrity pint (or tea) at the finish.
The trails are dry and running fantstically, and the nettles haven't taken over yet
