Just a heads up to advise that entries in the Kowalski Classic opened yesterday... just like the heavens (it's pissing down here!)

The Kowalski Classic features two race distances over the very best trails in East Kowen and Sparrow Hill. Both distances contain a mind-bendingly high proportion of singletrack (so, your face may get sore on account of all the smiling). Of course, we know you want a bit of mongrel in your racing, so we’ve put in a stem-kissing climb here and there to send your HRM to bleepsville. This year's course takes in brand new trails, built especially for the race and launched officially on race day — including what is quite possibly the highest single track in the ACT region. If you like riding lots (and lots) of singletrack, then you will LOVE the Kowalski Classic.

THE FULL KOWALSKI (Circa 90-100km):
THE HALF KOWALSKI (Circa 50km):

We're busy building some secret new trails just now and we plan to let you loose on them come Race Day Sunday September 22.

New Category: Retro Racer
Take a good hard look under the house and drag out the oldest plaything you can find, because the Retro Racer category is open to any rider ready to race the Half Kowalski on their year 2000 (or older) mountain bike. Yes folks... it's time to polish up your purple anno, re-invigorate your V-brakes, fish out the Flex-Stem and re-assemble your trusty retro racer for a classic day on the trails. There's points for vintage lycra too!

(oh yeah, we're in Canberra, Australia)

Would love to get over to Oz to do a retro event. Sadly my lottery numbers have once again failed me...
