Shaftesbury Cycle Revival 12th June 2011.
In its inaugural year the ‘Shaftesbury Cycle Revival’ is the exciting combination of a lung bursting climb over the cobbles of the world famous ‘Hovis’ Hill and an adrenalin fuelled urban descent. The Shaftesbury Cycle Revival is an Enroute Cycling event brought to you in proud association with British Cycling and Shaftesbury Town Council. It’s a grass-roots event that evokes the spirit of fun and competitive riding across a series of races with a festival feel throughout the day

Shaftesbury Shooter
Start: 12:00 High Noon (when else?)
Prizes in the Park: 15:00
Entry fee: £10
The mixed terrain short course urban downhill event of the 'Shaftesbury Cycle Revival' that's ideal for dirt or jump bikes - a downhill rig won't get round the corners! Besides the amazing backdrop high above the Blackmore Vale, we've got a great little course that drops down a steep zigzag path with: concrete steps, tight tarmac corners, grassy Offcamber slopes and a rock garden to boot. Limited to 70 riders, each competitor gets 2 timed runs and the top ten qualify for the final shoot out.

Gold Hill Honk
Start: 16:30
Prizes in the Hall: 19:00
Entry fee: £6.00 (combined entry fee of £15)
Made famous the world over by the 70’ Hovis advert, there are no cobbled street more iconic than Gold Hill, but now the question is ... who’s gonna be the ‘Bread winner?’ The race is on, but which is faster? The Gold Hill ‘Honk’ is open to Road and Mountain Bikes. We’ve done the research but we’re not telling who’s quicker – that’s for you to come and find out as you pit your bike, strength and stamina against the hill and the clock. Capped to just 120 riders, the Hovis sponsored ‘Honk’ is a full-on-out-the-saddle sprint
