A mate plays in this wee scottish band, they are playing forests in england next summer so you might want to adjust your rides to either include or exclude those dates...

Simple Minds with special guest James Walsh will be performing:
* Fri 10 June - Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest, Nr Goudhurst, Kent.
* Sat 11 June - Thetford Forest, Nr Brandon, Suffolk.
* Fri 17 June - Westonbirt Arboretum, Nr Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
* Sat 18 June - Sherwood Pines Forest Park, Nr Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire.
* Fri 24 June - Dalby Forest, Nr Pickering, North Yorks.
* Sat 25 June - Cannock Chase Forest, Nr Rugeley, Staffordshire.
* Sun 3 July - Delamere Forest, Delamere, Cheshire.

Thank god i will be out of the country for the most part.


On the other hand Westonbirt is a very nice place indeed and well worth a visit. Get there late in the afternoon and you have the place to yourself too.

yes the bass player, Ged, joined them this year - ex Danny Wilson, all round good guy.

"New Gold Dream" still gets the occasional airing on my turntable. Think Jim Kerr lost the plot after that.

Only ever saw SM once though (Sheffield Arena in 91 or thereabouts) and it was all a bit pompous by then.

Still love their early stuff though. And I'm told that the live show is pretty good these days.
