Anyone else doing London to Brighton on June 17th?

I'll be on a late '99 Cannondale CAAD2, so not retro yet but it's getting there!

Anyone ridden back to London and got any suggested routes?

Woody

I wanted to sign up, but by the time I got round to it entry was full. Now considering just loitering around the start and riding it cheeky style.

Anyone else doing it? Perhaps a retro cake stop could be in order?

Yep - I'm down for it... I'll be on the roadie/MTB hybrid Orange Formula wearing a distinctive Retrobike Team top...

I'm starting at 8.30am I think and heading due South....

I did it last year on my 1992 Breezer Lightning Pro , on the right, http://www.darkrepository.com/galleries/l2b/finish.jpg

and will be doing it again this year. Managed 51.3mph on that mad downhill about 8 miles from the end! This was with no rear brake as a stone had got caught in a rear pad scoring the rim and leaving a massive lump where I had released the brake. Had to do some scary slip streaming as well :D

7am or 7.30 start for me or something similary stupid!!

Did it in 3hrs28 riding time and 3hrs43 total time including a couple of stops
