The MM (not SSMM  ) which is the 22nd - 24th June is drawing ever closer and things here at retrobike's luxurious and palatial Warwickshire headquarters are starting to swing into action. The plan is forming as follow

Meet and social

Would like to know who is planning on attending the weekend? As well as the stand running friday, saturday sunday MrK has something in the pipeline for Friday night.

The Stand

As you know retrobike have a stand booked :D We will be displaying your retro steeds. If you are planning on coming and bringing your old skool finest to show off please let us know what and when you'll be coming so we can sort a schedule.
There will also be a wide range of retrobike swag available, shirts, jerseys, badges and stickers.

Are us back up riders[ joe& myself] officially allowed to ride should we be needed, or do we have to dress up like either James/Neil/Russ or Gus.
Also is anyone riding modern at all :?:

Heathy,

Glad you can make it.....

Not sure on the backup front. If we can get another two riders together maybe we should look into getting another entry from somewhere ???

JV

another entry would be cool, though not that I need it in the elite team

:?

Anyway...

I will be riding new and old, depending on conditions and my biorythms..
2005 Yeti ASR-SL (main race bike)
2000 Rocky Vertex Sc (is this old or new? I class as new, but built with an old school flavour, and backup/main race bike depending on how sore my arse is  )
1996 Rocky Altitude (er, another race bike)
1991 Ellison or
1997 Fat Buckshaver (old schooled up)

depending on room in car too.. :?

oh, probs there Fri, but staying back home :) and deffo there Sat/Sun (unless it rains)

Boys,

Mrs Wu and I will be there Thursday afternoon onwards. Probably leave later on Sunday.

Will be riding the Merlin I'm afraid. Might have a go at the Mrs' DeKerf as it looks older than mine (but only pre-dates it by 18 months), but can't face riding my '93 Rockhopper comp I'm afraid - 2 miles a day to the station are enough.

John - regarding help holding fort at the stand on the Friday Mrs Wu and I will be more than happy to take some shifts. Presume it'd make sense to have at least two at a time and for a few hour spells at a time.

Are we all camping together as it were? And if so, close to the stand? Or is that just going to be a noise nightmare at 4am?

Should've said...

will need someone to bring a ghetto blaster (as mine is more of a grotto blaster) in order that I can leave the tent for each lap to the music from Rocky (an integral part of my psycing out the opposition).

(this may be a joke).

Stuff and nonsense

I plan to race a couple of pre-91 e-stays and an FSR for when it all gets too painful - if you need a show bike (and I don't think you will...) I'll bring the Buck Shaver garage queen... Don't bother with the ghetto blasters - I have some DJ equipment which, married to the jenny, will pump up the volume... wannabeedeejays - dontcha just hate 'em...!

Neil
