My first GT was a 90 Team Avalanche but after seeing one of these in person I mortgaged the farm....$1410 bike dealer cost. Then came the dream time weight weenie build...
GT Frame
2x4 Fork
XT Threaded headset
Ritchey WCS Bar
Ritchey WSC Levers
XT 7 spd Top Mount
GT/A'me Grips
McMahon 135mm Ti Stem
McMahon Post
Selle San Marco Rolls Saddle
XT Derailleurs
Topline Cranks w/XT outer and Onza Buzz Saw Middle and inner ring
McMahon Ti BB
MA2's with Ultegra hubs
Porc K's
Latex Tubes

Oh the days....I had three or four builds on this and ever since trying an outboard BB and Hollowtech cranks I can't bring myself to take it back in spec. I even raced it in a xc race this past year and held my own in the old farts class.

A few more shots of Myzang for you. These early ones had the internal routed rear brake cable, machined head tube, the solid dropouts and of coarse the u-brake. Some of the later ones were a tad cleaner but I've had so much fun riding this over the years that it's going in the coffin with me when I go. These early ones had a 31.8mm seat tube and took a 29.4mm post which was huge by 91 standards. Note the stays do not connect at the seat tube.

A couple old bits have been on since the beginning...the Ringle Thing and the Sharkfin.
