The first complete steel frame bike produced by GT with Shimano XTR M900 was the 1992 Team Avalanche. The frame was made in Japan and featured Tange Prestige Concept tubing with the True Temper "Groove Tube" top tube. The bike was shipped with the GT 3D chromoly fork. A not quite complete XTR group with the rear XT U-brake, a Tioga Alloy OS headset and XT Clipless pedals. The frame also featured a replaceable derailleur hanger with adjustable rear dropouts.

The wheels are Araya RM-400 Pro's with XTR hubs and Wheelsmith spokes with 14/15 ga in the rear and 15/16 ga in the front. Original spec tires were Ritchey Z Max K's, but mine is sporting the Smoke/Dart Combo which is how I received it. I picked this bike up about five years ago from a guy in Toronto, CA. As you can tell it probably doesn't have 200 original miles on it. Very clean with little or no wear. The seller told me the decal scratches actually happened while in storage. I think you'll all agree that one can never have too many M900 XTR equipped bikes lying around.
