Mercian 531st 21.5" touring bike. 1991 frameset.

OK...so this is a punt before putting this on eBay. It's one of three bikes rescued from a garage after some time standing. It's cleaned up very nicely. It's a 1991 frameset.....number 315 of that year if my frame number interpretation is correct. Lovely metallic red with only a few small blemishes. 21.5" is measured centre to top. Mavic ma2 rims on campy qr hubs (front could use a service, back is great). 2x5 drive train - exage 300LX rear and Mountain LX front. Cinelli bars and stem. Stronglight chainset. 105 brakes and a nicely coordinated set of poker mudguards. I'm undecided on a reserve so thought I'd put it up here...advice most welcome on value. I believe I need to put a price on it here so let's say £500. Please tell me if that's a bit optimistic. Offers welcome including sensible ones for splitting. Im a bit rubbish at putting stuff on ebay so if it saves me the bother then great. Cheers for looking. Feel free to ask questions. More or higher res photos on request.

Re:

Having been "watching" similar steel tourers for some months (!), I think that that would do the asking IF offer P&P. Not exactly in an area of dense population!

It's lovely. GLWS.

If I didn't already have three very similar Mercians I'd have been interested, but I think the price is a little optimistic, two of the ones I've bought have been a little newer and better spec'd and in similar condition, and I paid half your asking price, however.... that was not on ebay where they seem to fetch a little more

Lovely bike anyway, GLWS!

Thanks for replies guys. Frame is lovely and in excellent condition so we'll see how it fares. I've put offers on it so if nothing happens quickly a deal can be struck later. I sometimes wish I wasn't in the far corner of the country.......I'd rather it was viewed, but think anyone doing so would be happy with it.

If it is on ebay still then this needs to go to the Ebay section as there is no cross posting.
It's also a bit unfair to ebayers and against ebay policies to post elsewhere as by listing it there is entering into a contract with ebay to auction it until the end of the listing. I know it happens all the time but ...
