Re: Peugeot Comete Sprint 1987 - £100 - Kent

I'm very interested if it's still for sale (?)
How does it ride - any noticeable issues?

Best,
Joni

It rides very nicely, its a very light frame. No issues that I am aware of.
Cheers

Re:

Bill - you can also contact me at joni@opendesk.cc if easier! I could probably drive down & pick up the bike one evening this week of suitable? (I'm in central London - where exactly are you?)

Best,
Joni

I had one new in 1987. Fabulous bike to ride, loved it. Right up till I pulled the seat tube out of the BB sprinting in big ring. Peugeot swapped the frame for me, and I promptly went out and did a sprint to check it and repeated the process. Had I seen this earlier, I'd have gone for it just for the memories, and stayed out of the big ring on the hills / sprints... :)

IIRC the tubes were hydraulically pressed into the lugs, no glue used, so there could be temperature differences in the interference fit. Both of my incidents were in the middle of the NY winter when it was below freezing.
