Mercians were sleek and crisp........just looks a bit "clunky".

Like always the frame number will be a giveaway :D

Some Mercian frames did not have the wrap around from the rear stays like this one. It does looks very plain to me. The frame number is the only way to know on this one in my opinion. Mercian did make a standard frame as well as special order so it could well be one of them.

I own a few Mercians and have had quite a few pass through my hands over the years that i have built-up for friends and family..... This doesn't have the quality associated with a Mercian frame. The frame number would be a sure fire way to clarify heritage.
