Up for sale is a 1997 Raleigh Royal/ Randonneur 708 tourer

Its a bit small for me at around 57cm - I'll measure it properly if any interest

It has Mountain LX mechs with 9spd bar-cons, STX cantilevers with Grand Compe levers

Chainset is Shimano with some TA chainrings

I'm looking at around £270 minus pedals or there will be a nice saddle on there in place of the current one for £250

Postage - I've just sent a whole bike via Paisley Freight for the first time in ages, and I think that has gone tits up, so it collection only or I can deliver within a reasonable distance of the Cambridgeshire flatlands for tea and biscuits.

*can post as Paisley Freight did not faff up a delivery!

Re:

Hi
Possibly interested - could you confirm C-C top tube and C-T seat tube dimensions to be sure which size it is? Original 58cm spec looks good for me. Thanks
James

Thanks!

It is just a shade of 57cm square

57.5 crank bolt to seat clamp with 57 from centre of seatpost to centre of steerer

The saddle is one of those special edition Selle Italia Mitica anniversary models

Enthusiastically priced! https://www.fawkes-cycles.co.uk/2487974 ... VeEALw_wcB

Forgot to mention that the headset is a new old stock Shimano 600

Will add this info for anyone else:

Tyres are 28mm

BB height is currently 30cm (British Eagle Touristique has a very low BB!)

No dents or dings, just scrapes and scratches

9spd cassette and chain is relatively new

wheels have only ever seen light use on various builds

Someone buy this. THE best frame for the job ever! 531 is like scaffold pole in comparison.
