Hi, could I ask what don't you like about it? I live in the peaks and I'm looking for a bit of a project steel summer bike. I average around 15mph and do quite a bit of climbing.... Would this be suitable for you think?

Hi

Its a bit small for me and I've bought something shinier to take its place making this thoroughly surplus

This would be fine for a project, you can still get replacement decals from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raleigh-Comp ... 1438.l2649

You can use it as is but I'd change the rear cassette to something more hill friendly!

Many thanks for the reply....I thought I might change the cassette! I'm 5'11" with 31" inch inside leg? Would I fit?

Re: FS: 1985 Raleigh Competition 12 58cm £150

It would be on the larger side but then I ride 60+ frames without issue

£80? I hope thats for the frame and forks. Theres making offers and taking the piss.

Re:

Ooops! Without seeing the bike I've no idea what needs spending on it to make it rideable... Pedals, tyres, bearings, etc etc.... Thought it might be worth a cheeky offer..... Anyways good look with the sale I take it you want much much closer to 150?

No worries, its in pretty reasonable condition and other than a cassette for your area (I was going to include one but oooh, I dont know now, it may be a poo in an envelope) it wouldnt have needed anything.

You'd be better off looking on ebay for the cheapies.

Re:

Going today to look at a Carlton Pro-Am full bike with 531 frame and forks etc... it's on eBay at 160 but he says he'll take 130.... It's only 20 miles away so I've only lost a bit of fuel if its not what I want. Yours is a bit more of a punt being so far away plus it may be a little too large so might have had to sell it if it didn't fit. I know I was being very cheeky....I know you say it's good to go without spending on it and I'm sure you are an honest person.

I'm a terrible human being, I almost glared at a cat earlier.

That carlton is a bit of a naff restoration. No braze ons , steel seat post etc etc.
