Selling due to ill health. The bike has only done five miles.

For sale is my Paul Hewitt Straight Handlebar Touring Bike.

The frame size details are:

Reynolds 631 Air Hardened Paul Hewitt Cheviot 26" wheel touring frame.

Has braze-ons for front and rear racks.

Seat Tube: 52 cm measured C2C. 55 cm to top of seat tube.

Top Tube: 56 cm measured C2C.

Head tube: 14 cm.

All the components and the frame are new. The frame is a New Old Stock one.

Rims: 36h - Mavic 317 with Stainless steel Sapim race spokes. The wheels were hand built.

Hubs: Shimano Deore LX.

Chainset: Shimano Deore Hollowtech 46-36-26t.

Cassette: Long gauge touring Shimano Deore 11 - 28t.

Shifters: 9 speed Shimano Deore 590.

Brake levers: Shimano Deore 590.

Rear mech: 9 Speed Shiamno Deore XT Long cage Shadow version.

Front Mech: Shimano Deore XT.

Handlebars: Thorn Comfort with rise.

Saddle: New Velo Touring saddle with loops for a rear saddlebag.

Tyres: New Schwalbe Marathon Plus Touring 26" x 1.75.

New Tubes.

New cables throughout.

Grips: Ergon GP2.

SKS long mudguards.

Seat post: FSA 27.2.

SKS stand.

Bottle holder. (bosses for 2 more).

It's very smooth and comfortable. The gearing will cope with any hills.

No pedals.

Collection preferred from Hardwicke Gloucestershire but I will post to standard UK Post Codes for an additonal £35.00

There will be a reasonable amount of re-assembly if you go for the courier.

Although the photos have turned out fine, they don't really do it justice.

Asking £795 or near offer for this.

The bike is sparkling black metallic.

They are v brakes. I know some prefer cantis but I went with Shimano Deore 590 v brakes as I feel they are better for loads if you're touring.

I put a brand new seat post in to take the photos so it may not help as it is not set for me at the moment.

As seen in the photos. It is set for 5 feet 9/10 inches.

Basically the fit would be 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 inches depending on your style of riding or how you like your setup.

Also comes with: a Blackburn rear touring rack, a brand new unused set of Brooks panniers in black (still bagged) and a set of Ergon standard grips if the GP2 aren't suitable.

I've changed out the rear cassette for a more usable 11t - 28t new Shimano one.

The geometry table for the 26" wheel version is no longer available.

I've changed the thread title to read a 55cm as apparently this is how Hewitt advertised it. It is a medium.

Please remove as it is to be advertised on a forum that does not allow cross threads on other forums.
