Looking for a lightweight set of rim-brake wheels.

Weight around 1500g or less if poss .

Tubeless compatible would be a nice bonus :)

WHY?

Cheers

Have a couple lightweight Mavics -

Both silver, silver hubs with stainless spokes, both non-disc. Nice condition no dinks or owt.

Front is Mavic X138 laced to a B-1 hub
Rear is Mavic X221 on XT FH-M750 hub

Profiles/appearance of these rims are near identical.

No skewers, both running true. £55 posted or £45 collected from Worcestershire.

Thanks :) ...what the weights of them please?

Cheers

Ok on my shonky digital kitchen scales they read:

Front: 870gms
Rear: 1082gms

NB Subtract 6gms from each of above as my scales don't zero (stuck at 6gms)

Thanks, but not light enough for what I'd like.

Cheers :)

I always seem to be looking out for (sub-)1500g rim-brake wheels so would be interested to see what shows up here - I haven't found that many options at all at this kind of weight. 1st gen Crossmax are the first that spring to mind though the 3 sets I've had have come out at 1530-1580g. I've had sets of the old style American Classic hubs on X517s and on Sun Ringle Equalizer 21s that came out comfortably under 1500g though the freehubs on them were dodgy and with replacement parts not available.

Hi,
I have a pair of Bontrager Race X Lite SE in all-silver. They're the same model as this:

http://brickwell.com/product/bontrager- ... F-aMPTF-A0

Front is 20-spoke radially laced, rear is 28-spoke, radial on NDS and 3x on DS. The hubs are Bonty-branded DT Swiss, and the rims are Bontrager. They're non-tubeless, but I daresay you could make them tubeless using a Stan's kit.

The current version weighs a bit over 1400g I think. That's with a tubeless rim and centrelock disks mounting point. These are probably a touch heavier but I think they're around the 1500g mark. I have them on a singlespeed at present and they've had very light use by me. I bought them off the forum and were practically new then.

I've had zero trouble with them, perhaps not surprising with such low mileage! However I had another (earlier) set of Racelites on my main bike some years back and they were brilliant. Extremely tough for such a light wheel, I hardly ever needed to true them and the finish held up very strongly. I'm pretty enthusiastic about Bontrager wheels in general, I've had several pairs on both road bikes and mtbs and have never had any problems.

I can take some photos if anyone's interested?

Cheers,
Gareth.

Need to dig them out of the shed, but recon they're ticking all your boxes.

Re:

Might just sell the following but price is going to have to be around £200
Stans 355 tubeless v rims.
Sapim silver laser spokes with red sapim 14mm alu nipples.
Front red pro 3 mono.
Rear silver dt 240 s

All parts brand new except dt rear which has seen about 800 road miles.

Can't remember what they weigh but it's well under 1300g

Interested?
