Shimano BL-M591 V and Canti Brake Levers

The ones that have V brake AND Cantilever cable pull options.

I need to run a U brake and V brake combination on a bike - and would like matching levers to stare down at :roll:

Certainly cheaper than buying the BL-M591 levers from SJS - BUT do they actually adjust to short cable pull, in order to get the rear Deore U brake to work well enough?* Front brake is V so that's ok.

Seems to be one of those internet searches that comes up with conficting advice :?

*I can get the current V brake levers to lock up the rear U brake, but it take a great deal of effort and there's zero modulation.

Modernish Shimano Deore BL-M511. No adjustments, other than lever reach.

The BL-M591 has 2 different cable end attachment points to change the cable pull ratio - not aware of that on any other levers?
