My wife's 99 ridgeback has an original alivio rear shifter playing up, it won't ratchet up further than the first 4. As such does anyone have a good condition unit they don't require anymore?

Tony, have you tried taking the lower casing off and cleaning it out with WD40/etc? Saying that I have a lovely XT shifter from same era that does exactly the same, even though its clean, because the pawl spring has broken. Whats model number or picture of same please?

Her bike is 100% original hence wanting to stay alivio.
