Hope you don't mind me tagging onto your thread Wilf ;)

If anyone has some mint Weinmann AG Carrera hoods I'm all ears!

These was brand new on my bike but after being left in the sun they have dried out and badly cracked.

Who cares Shaun! If it means we are able to get replica hoods again, then all well and good in my eyes.

Most if not all component manufacturers refuse to reproduce such items, this is because the original moulds have
been destroyed or there just isn't a big enough demand to search out old moulds and start selling them to the few who need them.

I enquired with Shimano about reproducing their 70's-80's hoods and can't as the moulds was destroyed.

I'm not bothered at all using repro stuff when there's nothing else..........sitting next to me are some reproduction Shimano gum hoods :) The e-bay advert said reproduction and I was happy to buy.

It's just that they are descrbed as 100% genuine NOS Weinmann hoods, which I am not sure they are.

Shaun
