Hello - I have my antennae out on eBay but as soon as you start looking for a bike with a 20 inch frame, there seems to be a glut of bicycles for giants and very little in smaller sizes in the North West.
A friend of mine has asked me to try and find a road bike for her to commute on. Preferably steel, preferably British, but if some interesting continental machinery came up she might be interested - we were outbid on a Benotto Paris-Roubaix on eBay recently. And no womens frames, she says they look wrong.
It'll need to be a lightweight as she lives in a flat and needs to carry it up two flights every day. But ideally nothing too expensive or nice (which the Benotto probably was) - what's needed is a good solid functional bicycle rather than a flashy or cosmetically perfect one, that won't be too prone to being stolen and won't be the end of the world if it does.
I don't ask for much, do I...? But if anyone has anything in the garage that might be suitable, please do let me know.
