WTD: Campag Record or Mavic 8-speed rear mech

I'm after a Campagnolo Record rear derailleur, to work with an 8-speed cassette and 8-speed Campag thumb shifters. Were all 8-speeds Record Titanium, or just some of them? The kit on the bike is all Mavic and Campag Record 8 speed from the late 80s / early 90s, I think.

Again, I don't know enough about Mavic derailleurs to know if they're compatible (spot who hasn't had time to do his research), but if anyone's got a complete working Mavic rear mech that would be compatible, I'd be interested in that as an alternative.

I'd like it in decent condition if possible, but I'd be interested to know what's available.

Thanks!

No - Record 8 was only titanium for one year. Then went 9-speed.

I have a Mavic and a Record Ti 9-speed with some scuff marks sadly.

The Mavic works fine with Shimano so won't work well with un-modded Campag.

Record 9 will work fine in 8-speed Campag system.

I believe 8spd mavic RDs used the same Geometry as 6/7/8spd DA , and therefore all 9 speed Shimano shifters work with it (same cable pull and spacing)

I believe the Sachs branded ergo 8spd shifter has a different cable pull and will work too
