The frehub body on my FH-6500 rear wheel is well and truly on its last legs. I'm actually surprised that it's still on any legs at all since the Paris-Roubaix sportive in 2010 appeared to have killed it, but it's still rolling albeit very noisily and not very smoothly.
The 6500 series freehub appeared have been a fairly individual kit in that the Shimano tech manuals suggest it's not cross-compatible with other units. I tried and failed to use a 5500 series freehub body on there, even going so far as to get a replacements axle assembly, but to no avail.
So it seems my only option is to get the real thing, and hopefully someone on here will be able to help!
