UPDATE
Provisional new date is 18th August.
Meet up from 13.00 at Cykelposten, Stationsvej 104, 5792 Årslev
with view to leaving around 14.00.
Ride expected to last 2-2,5 hours.
Retro ride compulsory
Retro clothing optional
Retro helmet - probably a bad idea - but up to you!

Would be great if someone could bring a bike cam even if it's not strictly retro. It's the first event of its kind in Denmark as far as I know.

We are expecting around 10 people (mostly from the trade) but can cope with up to 20 for the ride - and more for the pre-ride trade-meet etc....

Anyone who wants to stay on for post-ride barbecue etc is more than welcome.

Plenty of parking either behind the shop or in the old post office vehicle parking lot round the corner.

Ride is expected to take approx 2 hours and us a kind of figure of 8 route taking in the woods where Webike run races every year, the nearby gravel pit reclaim area, a little tarmac, the woods near Ravnholt and the area near Pederstrup. Approx 35-40km. Few climbs so single-speed friendly and not much single track. But a little.

Option of taking a shower at the shop afterwards (bring your own towel etc of course) and freshly roasted espresso for all.

Anyone wanting to taste some of the fine local beers from Midtfyns Bryghus (who regularly win Dansk Ølentusiasters beer of the year award) can buy them at the 2 shops in the village of Årslev that are nearest to Cykelposten : Ny Tatol and Kornblomsten. Ny Tatol also sells Chu-chum chili sauce which is truly awe-inspiring.

If anyone wants to buy some stuff I can get hold of NOS XT brake pads, M739 1" and 1 1/4" headsets, HG91 chains but I need to know at least a week in advance. I have a little stock but not enough to rely on. Price would be 219,- for chains and 79, for blocks and 399 for headsets. Less if enough people want them that I can save postage.

I also propose the first Danish RB swap meet.... Bring the stuff you don't need that someone else might......

Finally, if people are interested it will be possible to grill either in my garden or the garden behind the shop (which is nicer than my garden but am not strictly supposed to use but don't expect to be caught out 8D) You'd need to bring your own food. I'll provide cutlery etc...... and there is a fridge to put stuff in.

Will also be showing off my Pace collection and other British bike kit.....
Search for Cykelposten on Google Earth - it should be there now.

This is a truely amazing invitation. I am very much looking forward to this event. Nice to combine it with swap meet too.

You say that single.track is sparse?! Can this be right?

I'll see what I can find for swaps, great idea.

Are you driving on your own Jakob?

Hi Jacob. Jep i think I will be driving on my own. I could pick you up in roskilde or along the freeway south around Ringsted. Let's organize when we gets clouser. If I drive the subaru we could have three bikes on the back and one on the top... So we could bring to persons more...

Single track is hard to come by in this part of Fyn. But there will be some.... And a couple of technical descents if it's not too overgrown. Hoping there won't be too many nettles by late June but sadly there probably will be!

Just realized its the day of "Sankt hans aften" and that we have an invitation to a dinner that night.
Think I'll be able to meet and ride with you guys, but will probably have to leave late afternoon

Just test-rode some of the route earlier today and found some new tracks.

It was supposed to be 100% rideable in 28/28. I can assure you - it won't be. One of the climbs I got up on 22/34 on a fully.

And there's plenty of single-track after all..... and a couple of nice little suprises.

But nettles MAY be an issue in a couple of places.

Sounds really well. Looking forward to riding the trails!

btw: I was just out for a swing on the Plexus yesterday evening. Cant say it is as fast as my modern bike. But It sure is nice to ride...
