We might be going at the end of May for a couple of days (using up airmiles :D).

Anybody got any recommendations of what to see with kids (aged 10 + 6) and where would be the cheapest to stay centrally (cheap = youth hostels / premier lodge type things).

Thanks to dbmtb for response elsewhere - just looking for additional ideas. :D

Only been there for day trips across the bridge..very lively city, lots of shops and things to see.The old harbour is the best place to pop down and take a look, over summer theres harbour tours etc..but don't get lost with the family in the red light district

have a look at this for cheap accomadation...

May is a great time of year in Denmark.

There are some obvious tourist attractions, such as Tivoli, Zoologisk have, Havnerundfart and Dyrehavsbakken, but my best recommendations would be:

- The Open Air Museum (www.frilandsmuseet.dk)
- The Viking Ship Museum (www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk)
- The medieval centre (www.middelaldercentret.dk)

A trip in a rented canoe down mølleåen is great fun.

A visit to Jægersborg Dyrehave, Zoologisk Museum, Danmarks Akvarium or Planetariet is also recommendable.

There is an inspirational site about children activities in Denmark, but unfortunately it is in danish: www.sjovforborn.dk.
