Can I use this DOT4 car brake fluid? Formula brakes.

Yes, thanks Matthews, I have been looking about.
60ml came with the kit, could be any old cheap rubbish.

Re:

I run the standard car super dot 4 in 2 pairs of hopes and one pair of Avids , run a garage so buy it by the 5l and always have it in stock , the super dot 4 stuff nowadays tends to have an equivalent or better boiling point than dot 5.1 and is a bit runnier for modern abs systems .
Do NOT mix with dot 5 as they are a different base and don't mix .

Matthews, I used the stuff in the picture up there ^
brakes working fine now. Couldn't do pads because they sent the wrong ones.
Luckily pads had some life left in them so roughed them up with some sandpaper.

What compound pads are best for cross country?
Cheers.

Re:

I use sintered as I usually get nearly 12 months riding out of a set (30>60 miles a week in shit usually) and my local terrain can be a bit gritty and sloppy at times , wears the rotors a lot faster than organic but 3 years or so per rotor and 12 months per pads is better than every time out for new pads like some of the cheap organics , the race matrix ones I found loud and a bit numb when cold , (in the hopes anyway, not tried em in the Avids) so I stick with sintered , just bed them in properly when new then never touch them till they are worn out n time to change.
Other people will have different views but I've never had major brake failure from tootling along towpath to trying to ride down Ben Nevis .
