Bought this the other day awaiting collection.

Was wondering what you guys thought about upgrades.

I have mint Shimano Xt m739 3 x 8 combined brake/shifters and brakes and was gonna put them on there. Obviously I'd need to put on a new 8 speed cassette.

Was thinking of a new easton stem and bars I've seen on sale.
Maybe new headset and bb too.
Any ideas?

Re:

Looks really nice
XT 739/738 seems to be my groupset of choice ! i have it and have used it on loads of bikes and it just works and keeps on working .
What else have you got in mind ? xc race type or more relaxed do it all bike ?
As for upgrades you cant beat a good set of light wheels and tyres to really transform a bike :D

Cheers Paul.

Just a more relaxed do it all kind of bike.

Any suggestion on a set of lightweight wheels and tyres for rim brakes?

I would ride it as is for a while, then have a disc tab put on the back and swap out the wheels and brakes for brand new ones. The colour and geometry would take updating well. Cool bike.

I think I will mostly stick wíth it the way it is just now and modernise a bit more as I go. Discs, new orange paint job.

Anyone know what the Z4 bombers are worth?

I think im gonna stick them up for sale here and on eBay in the future. I have some new rockshoxs to stick on the frame.

That is an option. The rockshox have discussed tabs on them.

If I decide to stick with rim brakes though, I'm struggling to find a decent set of wheels.

What kind of weights are we talking for them to be consider lightweight?
