A question for the Kona Gurus out there...

Aside from colour, are there any differences between a 98 Caldera, Cinder Cone or Lava Dome frame?

They all seem to be made from Kona double butted cromoly

Re:

Full frame tech specs for these are in the Archive and Gallery, should be a bit talking about the different frames.

If memory serves me right, no, just the colour.

Re:

Thanks.

I looked at the 98 catalogue in the Archives and it was pretty sparse of info, hence the question. I'll take another look.

Thanks anyway. It does seem like they were the same frame across those models and it would make sense from a Kona standardisation of production point of view.

The Cinder Cone and Lava Dome were the same.
The Caldera had a stiffer down tube, lighter seat tube, better quality stays and the same dropouts as the Explosif and Kilauea, without rack eyes.
