diy head set fitting

Retro Newbie
simple question how hard is it to fit a head set at home .not short on confidence to fit it just lacking practical experience

Easy enough with the tools. Just make sure everything is going in straight and do one cup at a time.
I wouldn't recommend doing it without a press though.

Chunk of wood. Hammer.

Or a home made press with a length of threaded rod, some nuts and big washers.

Re:

I always used to use the chunk of wood & big hammer method, but bought an X-Tools headset press last year and honestly it couldn't be easier, worth buying the right tool for the job if you predict fitting a headset again in the future, it'll pay for itself in no time.

1/2" threaded rod, a few nuts, some large washers, a bit of patience - nothing else needed.

It's in a pretty shade of green now

oooooooh! is that homemade? looks nice! not sure about the green though
