Hi all, new to retrobikes, have tried a search on this but no luck.
I've just finished doing up a Scott Octane FX1 from 1998 on a budget and found that the rebound adjuster on the rear shock has no effect, and it's slightly too fast. (Two cycles after dropping off curb rather than 1, and quite a bit of bobbing)
Does anyone know what is involved in servicing a shock like this? Is it DIY-able?
Replacement/upgrade doesn't seem likely as the 145x35 length seems not to be availabke these days.
Anyone have any experience of these? Did the rebound adjuster even work when new?! Does using the shorter travel setting help?
