I bought a shock that doesn't hold air, actually it doesn't take air and I think that means the valve is broken. Can these be replaced like a car try valve core, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Great, much cheaper a repair then. There are various kits available that come with valves. Should I be looking out for anything in particular? I've seen ones that state short valve core, would these be better?

Remove the core valve * and take it to your nearest car tyre place to get a replacement, should be pennies to buy.

There are different sizes and lengths but the ones ive seen on forks and shocks are the short ones.

* either buy or make a tool = short length of car brake pipe with a slot cut and filed in the end, the inner hole is large enough to go over the end of the valve.
