Can't see a problem with this but will ask those more mechanically minded...

I need a new cheap chainset (or crankset as the modern kids call them) but struggling with a double designed for a nine speed set up

I can get very reasonable deore for fifty quid but these are designed for their 10 speed set up

There won't be any problems using a 10 speed chainset with my nine speed kit...will there?

No.
9 and 10 speed are close enough in the key dimensions that they are pretty much interchangeable.

Only "issue" is front mech/shifter fettling. Might need some tweaks with the stop screws and the height of the mech.

Takes about 3 minutes to sort!

FWIW, I've been running an xt 10 speed double on my otherwise 9 speed xtr set up for a couple of years. No problems at all.
