I know this topic has been done to death but does anyone have the definitive answer to replacing a sus fork with rigid, i.e. the required axle to crown lengths....

Have a RM Flow which originally had Marzocchi DJ 100mm travel forks according to the catalogue. From what I can find these had an A2C of 490mm....so am I looking for a 425/430mm rigid fork? What will happen if I put one of my 410mm forks on it...?

Re:

Normal 100mm replacement forks are 440mm a-c. I've gone with a shorter fork at times and put a big (2.5") tyre in which jacks the front up a bit and lends a bit of comfort.
