alternative spoke lacing...here's one!

i made this wheel today, to try and save weight, i used 16 spokes instead of 32, been out on it all day and it stayed true!

opinions please :shock:

just careful when i know half my spokes ain't there!!! it's on a klein frame too....which is hardly downhill bullet proof material,,,ha ha!

fun, but PG spokes and brass nipples on a weight saving wheel.*

Poor hope hub with all the added stress. good job they're not renowned for cracking

*ok so assuming PG&Brass ~140g saving on halving the spokes, you would save another 40g going to DB&Alu

I've got some 28H rims, why not do a 28H setup and only use 14 spokes. That would be even lighter!

Is there a crack on the hub shell already? I've circled what looks to be one. These Hope hubs were notorious for cracking in that exact place!
