Hi,

A very (very) basic question but one which I don't know the answer to embarrassingly nor can I find the answer on the interweb.

I have purchased some wheels off ebay but I don't know what speed/size the free hub is? What size cassette is a 7, 8 or 9 speed vs the free hub?

Cheers.

Assuming you mean Shimano? 7 speed freehub body is 31mm long whereas 8 and 9 is 35mm i.e. can be either.

Location: Wherever it is, I'm being just that little bit more Lance
Shimano 8/9/10 speed all fit on the same freehub.
