Hello,

As per title really. I have a Genesis iO fitted with a 100mm bouncy fork and I want to replace it with a rigid fork.

I'm thinking Salsa Cromoto but can't decide 425mm or 445mm.

Any other recommendations for a rigid steel fork also welcome.

Thanks all.

I think that I read somewhere that 420mm A to C is equivalent to an 80mm travel fork and 440mm is designed to replace 100mm fork.
Have you measured the A to C on your current forks?

The current fork is a suspension one therefore the work of the devil and I fear to touch it let alone measure it.

Also the bike is en route and not in the cave

Cheers,

Tad

445mm fork for sure - I think that Genesis offered a rigid fork of the same length at one time....or still do.

Cromotos are definitely a good choice as well, I have two bikes fitted with them and they're lovely - light enough, track well and still have mudguard mounts, what's not to like :)

I'd steer clear (see what I did there?) of the Genesis forks - they're harsher than a very harsh thing.
Salsa Cromotos on the other hand are very nice.....
