Oops! I broke it!

Was trying to re-fit my Headshoks to my Flash frame this morning after changing the headset bearings. All the information I've seen says just TWAT the bottom of the forks to drive the race into the frame. I wasn't overly happy doing this but out came the rubber mallet. Bang! Bang! Tsssshhhh! Sh1t! I hit the air valve and cracked the air cap underneath. I have managed to buy a new one. But is it possible to do myself or am I going to be better off sending the forks to TFTuned or someone?

How do I fit the forks as well without killing them? TFTuned bloke said to install the stem and hit that to pull the lower bearing race into the frame and on the forks.

It's a horrible feeling doing something like that isn't it! Sure the cap will be available separately and pretty sure it'll be one of the easier parts to replace. Can't seem to find any info on a quick Google though. Sure someone will have had the same problem before, so may just take a little more Googling (or a call to your local 'dale dealer).

I've found a few pages of how to repair. I just need the tools. I blame Cannondale for being awkward when it comes to fork fitting!

I definitely wouldn't blame the rubber mallet that I lent to you. That was a quality item, and everyone knows that rubber mallets can fix anything ;)

The forks are bad enough. But after I broke those I did
