I'm thinking of treating my soon to be delivered 29er to a wheel urgrade.
I've ridden a friends bike with Crossmax SLR's fitted, and loved them.
Any suggestions on alternatives?

Crest are a bit flexy for many peoples' taste. You might want to go for Arch instead

Hope Hoops Arch EX29 on SP hubs is one of the biggest sellers I have at the moment.

I've some Hope Hoops Flow EX's, really impressed for the money. Maybe overkill for the Canyon but the build quality is very good and the Arch's should be the same. You could also consider getting some light bicycle carbon rims and getting them built up if you fancy something a bit different. Very light and very stiff, lots of happy customers out there too, this is what I'll eventually be fitting to my 29er hardtail.

Shimano XT with tubeless Rocket Rons for me. They're strong and light, TBH I don't think they are any slower at picking up speed than the FSA 26" XC outfit they replaced. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input people :D
So far I'm pretty impressed with the crossrides that came fitted to the bike, so I'll see what money I have when stores start selling off the 2013 wheels to make way for the identical 2014 ones!
