So, here's the conversation I just had (via text):

Me, 5pm yesterday: "Hi, I'm interested in the Marin that you have for sale. Do you still have it?"

Seller, 11.30pm yesterday: "Ye" (sp)

Me, 7am this morning: "OK. You haven't posted any pictures of the bike with the advert. Would it be possible for you to send me some please. My email address is xxxxx@xxxxx.

Seller, 8.30am this morning: "No"

Brilliant.

In all honesty, the alarm bells are ringing loud and clear on it.

It's priced pretty cheap for what it is, it's got no pictures, it's not described very well ("gas shocks front and back"), there's no parts listings apart from the fact that it's got Hope wheels, and the seller seems unable to string more than one single syllable word together, which is a bit odd for somebody who's trying to sell a bike for a few hundred quid.

If the seller had been a bit more forthcoming with his replies, and actually bothered to snap a few pictures of the bike, then I might have gone to see it as it's literally just down the road from me. I think I'll steer well clear now though.
