Simple yes or no answer will do :D
Hyperthetically, if i had Sram X7 2 x 10 shifters, SLX front mech, FSA Comet 2 x 10 chainset, 105 10 speed cassette and a 9 speed XT rear mech would it all work together?
Also, 10 speed chain will be needed i assume?

The 9 speed XT rear mech is where it falls down.

you'd need a sram 10 speed rear mech for that lot to work

yeah a 10spd chain would be needed too

Does it have to be a SRAM rear mech? 10 speed shimano no good due to different shifting?

If you want an X9 10 speed rear mech, I will have a virtually new one (two rides old) available next week.
