Avid Arch Rival 40 question

Hi all,

I have some Avid Arch rival 40's but have noticed lots of play in them.

There is some movement where the brake arms bolts to the arch and more where the two halves of the arch are joined together.

Last night I stripped them, cleaned and re-assembled but still no luck.

Any ideas or are they past their best?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Had my fair share of Avid v-brakes - good while they last - but no experience of Arch Rivals... is there any way you can shim them?

I've had a few pairs of arch rivals. They can develop a bit of play when you wiggle them around, but I'm not sure it ever really affected their performance - on the basis that they never travelled in two directions, if you see what I mean. Have you actually noticed that they're not working as well or are you just trying them whilst locked on the wheel rocking the bike back and forwards?

Thanks guys. Wynne performance on the front one seems pretty good as usual. But there is so much movement it seems the pads are all over the shop in terms of where they contact with the rim. I could try a shim or just live with them for a bit.

I have just picked up some Avid sd 7 brakes so have a back up pair to compare with.
