Anyone used the Sunrace 9 speed thumbies on E-bay?

Has anyone used the Sunrace 9 speed thumbies on E-bay? £18.95 each which seems OK.

I was thinking of ditching my XT RF+ and using a thumbie.
I'd be going from a 2 x 9 to running 1 x 9.

Any thoughts on them?

I've got a Sunrace left hand friction/rathchet front shifter and I'm quite pleased with it, it seems quite nicely made and finished.

Mine work well, I'd say they are pretty good VFM and as stated seem well made enough. If you've a modern rear mech you might want one of these (will fit to mech or shifter):

Avoid their bottom brackets like the plague though. I bought one as a temporary measure and when I took it out a month later it was actually in bits.
