A few enquiries upon the nature and idiosyncracies of hyros

I've noticed the rear on one of my bikes has gotten a little too tight, with significant pad rub. The wheel is as true as it was (and the rotor) and the brake has not been tampered with. Two thoughts attend.

Are hydraulic brakes subject to variation with changes in temperature?

What is the best way to loosen this slightly.. should i bleed some oil, and if so.. should that best be done from the lever reservoir or the caliper?

Hmm temperature wise, not that i know of. he power lessen with greater heat (like alps riding etc.) and i find cold rotors take a bit more pull to bite or warming up.
Nothing major though.
Sounds like sticky pistons. May need a good clean and re lube or possibly replacing. If you arent that fussed id use a pad spacer to push them back in.

Re: A few enquiries upon the nature and idiosyncracies of hy

I had been wondering if the oil might expand a bit with heat and tighten the brake.. but on closer inspection it was tight on the inside, so must have taken a knock somewhere. Retightened it and is better now..
