Fixing a rim

Got given a set of Shimano road bike rims, the ones with the nipples at the hub, r580 I think? They're in very very good condition bar 1 problem...
The rear rim has a hairline crack approx 2cm long, with the spoke hole right in the middle.
The rims are going on my partners bike and she weighs 60kgs, and will only be ridden on the road
What's the best option? Should I get the crack welded and redrill the spoke hole? Drill 2 small holes either end of the crack to stop it spreading? Leave it and ride it till the spoke pulls through the rim?

I'd replace it. If it's got one crack, others won't be far behind.

I agree with this. Get a new rim, if the hub and spoke are good just reuse them and lace up to a new rim

Having a quick look into it, it seems you might not be able to buy these rims as a replacement part?
Anyone know if you can get the wh-r580 rim separately?
