I got asked about my spare Rhythm frame, if a 26 would fit, so tried a 26 in again (tried before just couldnt remember 100%). I have more 24 frames than wheels so curiosity killed the cat!
Yeah I know the BB would be about 13" high and it's 'wrong', could be fun to try for the hell of it, maybe with slim tyres! I expect it would look like a scale model 29er! :D

Anyone else done or seen this done?
Any criticisms or wisdoms?!

:)

I always wondered this with the Rhythm cos some of them had the APS brake mounts. What would have been the point in having APS if you cant switch between 24" and 26"?

Did these have APS? The early ones? I know the Trailstars, Sidekicks and stuff did. I've not seen many of these have 26ers fitted, but with Discs its easy to test out! :D
Geometry will be a bit 'high' but whats the worst that could happen...

you like the WW wood screwers? I might patent em!
I think it's an old spacing 1989 Muddy Fox wheel so needed a quick fix! :D
Cheers

rhythms were only designed for 24 inch wheels from memory

think dmr when to ajustable brake mounting points on the trailstars and sidekicks for when 24s started to come onto the jump / street bandwagon thus the need for a new frame was born which ended up the reason the rhythm was born

i think

I think you are right Ba57ards, as tricksters and jumpers wanted a small wheelbase bike for fun stuff they went with it, sidekicks and trailstars were always up for anything!
They do feel good being specialised, makes this thread silly but no harm! :D

well I got home and couldn't help myself!
just about took a 2.2!:

BB height currently about 12.75 inch, so a bit more with 26 upfront too on rigid.

Early ones had aps but could just have been to run brakes under the seat stays rather than above.

Wow, that's really interesting seeing the early one. APS there it is! wonder if the chain stays we're longer then.
Good to see Moto tyres were on that early on. And the big disc chainring, and the big square BMX stem, I've just sold one of those! Great.
