I've used gorilla tape on my rims after the Stans yellow tape got mangled in a battle with a schwalbe ust and a chunky tyre lever. Works fine, and 3 quid odd a roll.
Had to cut it to the right width for my rim internal diameter, but was easy with a Stanley knife and a pile of books to rest it on while I rotated the tape against the blade.

Superstar components do a tubeless rim tape, £7 a roll which is enough for 5 or 6 rims
