as above need a wheel set that is strong but doesnt weigh a tonne

And insanely expensive.

If you're going to spend a chunk of cash, Easton wheels are supposedly very good and I think some have loads of money off them at CRC at the mo.

I'm trying to decide between some Hope Pro II's on Mavic EN521's or the new Superstar hubs on Pacenti rims.

Look at the Mr O splitting thread in the for sale section. Enid_Puceflange has got a nice pair of Deemax for sale for £250. I wanted them but a few household expenditures intervened.
