Advice needed in replacing RST22A rear shock

Hi,

I have a full sus frame with an RST 22A rear shock - what type of shock can I directly replace this old thing for?

Anything I need to know? Are there different sizes? etc?

And can anyone suggest 2 or 3 better quality examples?
Are Magura shocks any good?

Not seen a magura shock?
I think you need 165x38. 165mm from the centre of one eyelet to the other. And 38mm movement of the stanchion.
Fox rp23 is a good one, rock shox sid. X fusion. Something like that.

would I be able to fit ANY of this type of shock? 165x38??

Should be but you may need different hardware which you can get from ebay for about £10 each end.
